Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision in Hammersmith, London W6

Welcome to my website

I am a fully qualified and experienced UKCP-accredited Psychosynthesis counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor, with a private practice in Hammersmith, London W6.

I offer a safe, respectful and non-judgemental approach for exploring personal issues, based on the belief each of us is on a unique life path, whose crises and challenges, whilst bringing us suffering and confusion, also contain the potential for meaning and personal growth. Facing these challenges can involve confronting ingrained patterns of behaviour (developed at an earlier age in order survive but now no longer serving us) and making fresh, more constructive choices for our lives.

Though the life situations we may be dealing with can bring a sense of isolation, pain and even despair, these experiences need not be faced alone. As a counsellor and therapist, I seek to act as a witness, mirror and sounding board, keeping an open mind and open heart and offering challenges from a place of compassion rather than judgement. I see therapy as a journey of shared discovery, in which I travel alongside you as you learn to connect to, develop and act from your own inner wisdom and truth.

I aim to work with warmth, humour and imagination, to support you to look at where you are in your life, where you would like to get, what blocks you and what inner and outer resources you need to develop in order to move forward on your chosen path.

Psychosynthesis counselling or psychotherapy may be of value to you if you are dealing with

  • periods of transition or crisis
  • questions about the direction of your life or work
  • difficulties in personal relationships
  • depression, sadness, anger, grief or fear
  • the impact of early trauma
  • self-damaging, addictive or compulsive patterns of behaviour
  • challenges in your creative life or on your spiritual path
  • issues of middle and older life
  • the impact of serious or chronic illness

There can be occasions in every life, however outwardly successful, when you need to take time out for yourself. The therapeutic space offers you the opportunity to take stock, be witnessed, address the difficulties that confront you, listen out for the potential that calls you - or simply wonder about what it means to be you.

    Counselling

Counselling is usually short term (six - twelve weekly sessions), held at regular time and venue and concentrating on working through and resolving a specific issue. Where appropriate, a longer, more open-ended arrangement can be put in place by mutual agreement, in order to facilitate deeper, more exploratory work

    Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy allows for the deeper exploration of issues, focussing not only on past woundings but future potential, the ways this gets blocked and can be released. Whilst there is no set length for a period of therapy, the process by it very nature tends to be long term, usually lasting six months to a year, sometimes longer. It takes place in a series of one-hour sessions, held at a regular time and venue, on a weekly basis, though more frequent meetings can be put in place where necessary.

    Supervision

I provide one-to-one and group supervision to

  • psychotherapists, counsellors and supervisors
  • health care practitioners
  • self-employed and sole workers
  • senior staff and staff teams

    Drained off again, but
    Everything changes. You can make
A fresh start with your final breath.
